/// Combat Backpack DIY Mods
• Back Panel Armor
As an HDPE framesheet (or similar, for shape rigidity) replacement, NIJ level IIIA soft Kevlar armor is internally integrated for 95 percent of backpack footprint coverage. Protection from multiple rounds of pistol fire (44 Magnum, 9mm, 38, etc).
• Combat Shield Tail
NIJ level III+ ballistic combat armor (ceramic, steel) is integrated on the exterior. Can be used as is, flipped over to the wearer’s chest as body armor or removed to be used as a handheld shield. Protects against pistol and rifle fire as well as edged weaponry.
• Firearm Ejector
A hidden holster-like compartment for a compact handgun with a seamless deployment function; the gun is automatically dropped down to the user’s hand when “unholstered” by reaching the bottom of the backpack. A spare mag is positioned so a fast reload can be done by doing the opposite motion.
• Knife Sheath
A ringed blade is completely concealed in a combat strategic location for quick response deployment. The knife is pulled with ease of access when needed without sacrificing item visibility – no “printing”. Can withstand extremely close visual scrutiny.
• Electric Zippers
Using a scaled down mechanism of electric fences, the main compartment zippers have a constant electrical current running through. Direct contact with the zipper causes the person a severe shock, extreme disorientation, searing pain and potentially unconsciousness. Disarming is easy but not obvious.
• Security Alarm
A crude but effective alarm that sets off a 130 decibel siren if the backpack (when stationery) is touched or moved. The alarm can go off for as long as the battery lasts as it’s difficult to deactivate once activated. Disarming is easy but not obvious.
